The General Fiction, Non
Fiction and Academic categories are all designed
for previously unpublished writers, who have never
had a work published with an ISBN in their name
– unless this was through a self-published
work or as a contributor to a work, in which case
you would still be eligible to enter in these categories.
The Published Authors category is for Authors that
may have had work published previously, but would
like to enter a new text into the competition.
Please check definitions below to ensure
you register for the correct category;
General Fiction –
About invented or imagined events (may be partly
based on fact but will contain elements of imaginary
content). Entries can be on any subject –
romance, crime, science fiction, adventure, children’s
stories, thriller and so forth.
Non-Fiction
- Representation of a subject presented as fact
or reality. Entries cover all topics other than
General Fiction or Academic and therefore can include
autobiography, memoirs, biography, travel, mind
body spirit, sport and so forth.
Academic
- Will cover any discipline (e.g. history, geography,
physics, mathematics) but must be the study of a
theoretical subject in such depth that it is distinguishable
from Non-Fiction entries, which are only descriptive
of their subject matter.
Published Authors
– Entries can be on any subject or in any
genre, however the text must not have been previously
published.
