ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
-
Entrants must submit a synopsis and completed
work by 31st January 2007.
- The Synopsis must be of no
more than 500 words (any entries submitted
over the word limit will be cut before going forward
for judging).
- The Completed Work must be of
no less than 90,000 words
and of no more than 200,000 words
for both the General Fiction and
Previously Published Categories.
For Non-Fiction and Academic
entries, no less than 75,000 words
and no more than 200,000 words. Longer
or shorter works may in exceptional circumstances
be accepted, but only by prior approval by the competition
organisers, please address your request to exceptionalentries@undiscoveredauthors.co.uk
- All entries must be submitted in English.
- The Completed Work and Synopsis
must be submitted together as a single
MS Word file.
- Submissions must not contain any more than 16
pages of colour or black and white gloss inserts
(black and white diagrams/illustrations are exempt
from this clause).
- Both the synopsis and completed work should
be submitted electronically by email attachment
to the organisers web address – entries@undiscoveredauthors.co.uk–
and clearly state the entrant's name, contact details,
competition category and entry number.
- In exceptional circumstances, the organisers may
accept hard copies as postal entries,
either as printed word documents and/or CD entries.
Hand-written entries will not be accepted. In order
to enter in this way, candidates should address
their request to
exceptionalentries@undiscoveredauthors.co.uk
explaining why they are unable to convert their
potential entry into a standard, e-mail compatible
MS Word file. The competition organisers are not
obliged to accept submissions in this way and their
decision in this regard is final. If successful
as a competition winner, an electronic version will
be required in order for the prize to be offered.
Please do not send typed/CD entries without
gaining prior permission as these will not be accepted.
